Shall we
dance?
Why not begin ballroom dancing,
here in Tokyo?
To improve your posture,
to start something together
as a couple, to take on
competition—everyone arrives
for their own reason.
Before teaching steps, we begin with how you stand, how you walk, and how you hold your partner—tailored to each person's body. We offer fully private, one-to-one lessons in Meguro and Suginami, Tokyo.

to a body that dances.
An invitation to private ballroom dance lessons
If you have found your way to this page, you are most likely either looking for a way to move your body, or you have grown curious about ballroom dancing. Either way, you are very welcome.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Daisuke Ono. I am a professional ballroom dancer based in Meguro, Tokyo, where I teach private lessons. I have been dancing for a quarter of a century, and teaching as a professional for more than a decade.
Having spent years studying in the United Kingdom and Germany, I am always glad to welcome students from overseas, and I am happy to teach in English as well as Japanese.
Why do people take up ballroom dance? For their health, to improve their posture, to begin something together as a couple, simply for the joy of moving, or to compete—every reason is equally welcome here.
Let me be honest, though: my lessons are not about picking up flashy steps in a short time. What I teach is less the steps themselves than the way of using the body that comes before them—how to stand, how to walk, how to hold your partner.
It may look like a detour, but for the complete beginner it is the most natural way in, and for those who have danced for many years, it is often the key to moving past a plateau. I am confident I can be of help.
